About The Little House

The school is for a maximum of fourteen children with two classes and two qualified and experienced staff.

Consequently we provide the rare opportunity for individual attention and a close personal relationship with each child.

It is our policy that each child should be allowed to develop naturally at his or her own pace.

A teacher should never be a taskmaster but a guide and helper. Her role is to encourage positive attitudes, provide stimulus and to lay the foundations for a child to enjoy his or her work and to encourage a continuing interest in what he or she is learning.

Children of this age have an absorbent mind for knowledge; they desire stimulation and this should be found in a full and exciting environment through which they can explore and learn.

As well as a wide range of educational equipment, the children are involved in daily group activities including, art and craft, topic work, nature study, singing, music and creative play. Our aim is to develop the whole child and make their day fun.

One of our teaching staff is a qualified Forest School Leader which means the children can fully explore and enjoy the outside environment.

Our satisfaction is that a child should look forward to coming to school each day and be sorry to leave us when the time comes for him or her to move on; but he or she should do so, with excitement and a keenness to seize new opportunities.
